Intelligence Agencies in World

India - RAW
Formed: 21 September 1968
The Research and Analysis Wing is India’s external intelligence agency formed after the poor performance of IB (Intelligence Bureau) in Indo-China war of 1962 and Indo-Pak war of 1965.

China - MSSMinistry of State Security of the People's Republic of China is the largest and most active foreign intelligence agency in the country which also deals with the domestic matters.

Israel - MossadFormed: 13th December, 1949
 It is responsible for covert operations including target killings and paramilitary actions which extends outside the border of Israel and espionage operations

Pakistan - ISIFormed: 1948
Inter Services Intelligence is the premier intelligence agency in Pakistan providing national security and intelligence information to the Pak government.It is one of the strongest intelligence agencies worldwide and claims to have a highest number of agents.

UK - MI6Formed: 1909
The Secret Intelligence Service (the famous “Her Majesty’s Secret Service”) provides intelligence information to the British government. The existence of MI6, which is a British equivalent to CIA, was not officially acknowledged until 1992.

US - CIAFormed: September 18, 1947
The Central Intelligence Agency is a civilian intelligence agency of the United States government. It is responsible for gathering information about foreign governments, corporations, individuals and advice on policy making. It also performs paramilitary operations and covert operations. It employs around 20,000 people.

Russia - FSBFormed: April 3, 1995
The Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation is the main successor agency of the famous KGB of the Soviet Union. It handles counter-intelligence, border and internal security and counter terrorism.

France - DGSEFormed: April 2, 1982
The Directorate-General for External Security is operating under French ministry of defense. DGSE is notable for performing paramilitary and counter-intelligence operations abroad and claims to have prevented more than 15 terrorist attacks in France after the infamous 9/11.

Germany - BNDFormed: 1 April 1956
The Bundesnachrichtendienst is the Foreign Intelligence Agency of the German government. It has 300 locations in Germany and worldwide which gathers both military and civil intelligence mainly through wiretapping and electronic surveillance and acts as an early warning system to alert German government on threats.

Australia - ASISFormed: 13 May 1952
The Australian Secret Intelligence Service is aimed at “Protect and promote Australia's vital interests through the provision of unique foreign intelligence services as directed by Government.”
